TAMPERE UNIVERSITY

The researchers from TAU are mainly from the research group of Metal and Lightweight Structures.

The group has a long-standing experience with optimization of steel structures as well as creating and implementing algorithms for design automation. This includes sizing, geometry and topology optimization of skeletal structures and optimization of steel joints. The researchers have also applied methods of multi-criteria optimization in their studies. The expertise of TAU complements the knowledge of the consortium perfectly, and it enables achieving the goals related to creating the optimized structural grid.

The TAU group also implements the building information modelling (BIM) extensions developed in the project.
