BERNABEU INGENIEROS

Bernabeu Ingenieros is a structural engineering consultancy specialized and recognized in singular building structures and bridges, working in close collaboration with architects.

Founded in 2014, Bernabeu Ingenieros is formed by a team with very high expertise in the field of building structures and bridges. The office is based in Madrid (Spain), but it develops projects working in international and multidisciplinary teams, working worldwide. Recent projects include the Mohamed VI Tower in Rabat, Morocco (architect: Rafael de la Hoz), the Goián-Cerveira footbridge over the Miño river, a 280m span suspended bridge connecting Spain and Portugal (architect: Burgos y Garrido), the Santander Bank Museum in Santander (architect: David Chipperfield), or Carmen Thyssen Museum in Sant Feliu de Guíxols (architect: Nieto Sobejano).

It has developed numerous projects in the field of steel and composite structures, among them the Faculty of Psychology in Malaga (architect: LLPS), the Pavilion roof and stands at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (architect: Héctor Fernández Elorza) or the Alborouj Cultural Hub in Cairo, Egypt (architect: Sancho Madridejos).

In this project, Bernabeu Ingenieros is responsible of the development of the Technical design guidelines, and contributor in Dissemination and Communication, as well as in other tasks, contributing his professional experience in steel and composite structures.

Alejandro Bernabeu Larena

Civil Engineer, Canals and Ports. Doctor from the (UPM) & Managing Director at Bernabeu Ingenieros

PhD Civil Engineer graduated from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). 

He is an expert in structures of singular buildings with more than twenty years of experience, currently director of his own consultancy firm. He is professor at the School of Architecture (UPM) since 2008, and is author of more than 40 articles, congress papers and conferences on structural design and the relationship between structures and architecture. Alejandro Bernabeu has been awarded with the IABSE prize 2015, by the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering.

Guillermo González Sanz

Architect. Master in Structures. Doctor in Mechanical Engineering

Architect by the School of Architecture of the University of Valladolid (UVA, 2013), Master in Building Structures by the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM, 2015) and PhD in Mechanical Engineering by the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM, 2021).

Specialist in dynamic analysis of structures, advanced technologies and methodologies seismic design, and singular structure design. Professor at CEU San Pablo (Madrid), he is the author of several high-impact scientific articles and presentations at international conferences, as well as participation in R+D+i projects.

Jorge Bernabeu Larena

PhD Civil Engineer & Associate Professor at the School for Civil Engineering (UPM)

PhD Civil Engineer & full professor at the School of Civil Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), Educational Innovation Award of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

He has 28 years of experience in civil engineering projects: bridges, roofs, maritime terminals, stations, trams and metros, with great expertise in the management of complex interdisciplinary projects in urban environments.

With 20 years of postdoctoral research activity, he directs the Public Works Heritage Research Group at the UPM and is director of research at the Miguel Aguiló Foundation.
